1. Who you are dealing with
Viahly is a wedding website service operated as a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at viahlysites@gmail.com for any question about billing, cancellation, your data, or these terms. Email is our only support channel, and it is monitored by a person, not a bot.
“We” and “us” mean Viahly. “You” means the person who creates an account.
2. What the service does
Viahly lets you build a wedding website, collect RSVPs from your guests, and use an AI assistant to help plan your wedding. Building a site is free. Two things require a paid subscription:
- Publishing your site so guests can visit it
- Using the AI wedding planner
Everything else — choosing a template, editing content, uploading photos, building your schedule, setting up your guest list — stays free for as long as you have an account.
3. Your account
You need an account to use Viahly. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider; we never see or store your password. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure, and for anything done through it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. One account may cover more than one wedding.
4. Subscription, price, and renewal
The important part, in plain terms. The subscription is billed in advance at the price shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. It renews automatically for the same period, at the same price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and your site stays live until the end of the period you have already paid for.
The price and billing period are shown on the pricing page and again in Stripe’s checkout before you pay. We do not add tax. If your bank or card issuer charges a foreign-transaction or currency-conversion fee, that fee is theirs, not ours, and we cannot see or refund it.
If we ever change the price, the change applies from your next renewal and never retroactively. Your billing page always shows the price you are actually paying, which may differ from the price currently advertised to new customers.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details.
If a payment fails
Stripe retries a failed payment over roughly two weeks. During that window your subscription stays active and your site stays online — we do not take a wedding site down over an expired card. If every retry fails, the subscription ends and the consequences in section 5 apply.
5. Cancelling, and what happens to your site
Cancel any time from your billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not cut off access immediately. Your site stays live until the end of the period you paid for.
When a subscription ends, your published site goes offline.Visitors see a “not found” page. This is worth understanding before you cancel, especially close to your wedding date.
Your content is not deleted. Everything you built — pages, photos, schedule, RSVPs, planner history — is kept, and subscribing again brings your site back exactly as it was.
See the Refund Policy for what is and is not refundable.
6. Your content, and your guests’ information
Everything you put into Viahly stays yours. We do not claim ownership of your photos, your words, or your guest list. We store and display them so the service can work, and for no other purpose. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your content or your planner conversations to train AI models.
When your guests submit an RSVP, they give you their information — including, if you ask for it, dietary requirements. You decide what to collect and who to invite; we hold it on your behalf. You are responsible for handling it reasonably and for telling your guests how it will be used. The Privacy Policy explains this split in detail.
Published sites are public. Anyone with the address can view a published site, and search engines may index it unless you turn indexing off in your site settings. Do not publish anything you would not want a stranger to read.
7. The AI wedding planner
The planner uses a large language model provided by Anthropic. It is genuinely useful for organising a budget, building a checklist, and thinking through options — and it is also capable of being confidently wrong.
Do not treat its output as professional advice. Budget figures, vendor suggestions, timelines, and cost estimates are starting points to check, not facts to rely on. Verify anything that involves committing money, signing a contract, or a date you cannot move.
To generate replies we send your planner conversation and relevant wedding details to Anthropic. Daily usage limits apply so that one account cannot exhaust the service for everyone; if you hit one, it resets the next day.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Viahly to:
- Break the law, or help someone else break it
- Publish content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else’s copyright
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent who you are
- Upload malware, or attempt to break, overload, or probe the service or the systems it runs on
- Resell the service, or use it to build sites for third parties as a business without asking us first
9. Availability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability and we do not offer a service-level guarantee. Maintenance, outages at our hosting or database providers, and faults will sometimes take the service or a published site offline. If a significant outage is our fault and it affects your wedding, email us — we will do what is reasonable to put it right.
We recommend keeping your own copies of photos and important details. Do not rely on Viahly as your only record of anything that matters.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 8, that is being used to harm someone, or where we are legally required to. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
You may close your account at any time by emailing us. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under consumer protection legislation that applies to you. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything written here.
Subject to that: we provide the service as it is, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email you before it takes effect, and it will not apply to your current billing period. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.
